Canopi Plants

Canopi was created to make living with plants feel less intimidating. The Seattle-based plant shop and delivery service brought houseplants, from pothos to peperomia, to homes across the country.

Working from an established identity, I expanded the brand into a fuller visual world across digital, packaging, retail, and customer experience. The result was a system designed to feel as playful, approachable, and alive as the plants themselves.

Tending the Seeds

I worked on extending the brand across retail signage, packaging, and shipping materials. Custom packing tape made branding shipped boxes possible for the thrifty startup while their bright color palette enticed customers from the street with sidewalk sandwich boards.

Growing Online

Canopi’s digital experience balanced personality with utility, submerging the viewer into the colorful world of plants. I applied the visual system across the e-commerce site, email, social, and seasonal campaigns, creating a recognizable digital language while focusing on the two important things - helping people shop for plants, and teaching them how to care for them.

A Little Something to Take Home

Merch gave the brand another place to play. Familiar shapes, colors, and botanical illustrations became hats and totes that lived beyond the shop, turning Canopi from somewhere you bought plants for your home, into a brand you could carry with you.
